Cancellation/Accidental Damage Cover Terms &
Conditions
You will receive a full refund of all holiday rental monies paid (less the policy fee)
if you are forced to cancel before your holiday starts for any of the following
reasons:-
1. Because of your illness, death, injury, jury service, witness summons or
redundancy
(as qualified under current Redundancy payment legislation).
2. Because of illness, injury or death of your children, parents, parents-in-law,
spouse
or business associate, partner or co-director.
3. Because your home is rendered uninhabitable because of fire, storm, flood,
subsidence or malicious damage.
4. Because your presence is requested by HM Police following a burglary or other
incident at
home or place of business.
5. Because of unexpected posting by HM Armed Forces or cancellation of leave.
6. Necessary cancellation following theft of your private car within 7 days of
the start of your booking.
7. The insured vehicle being involved in an accident on the way to the holiday
destination,
which necessitates the cancellation of the holiday.
Plus you have additional cover against accidental damage or breakage to Cottage or its
contents (see condition 3).
Qualifying for Protection
In order to qualify for the cover offered by this scheme, you must fulfil the following
conditions:
You must notify us by telephone and then in writing immediately after
the circumstances occur
sending your letter by first
class post.
2. You must provide the appropriate supporting
documentary evidence.
3. The circumstances leading to your cancellation must occur after
you have booked your holiday.
Claims are excluded where at the time of booking the person whose condition gives rise
to the claim is either:
- Receiving or on a waiting list for Inpatient treatment in a hospital or nursing home
or...
- Expecting to give birth before, or within 2 months following the date of arrival home,
or...
- Travelling against the advice of a medical practitioner or...
- Where a terminal prognosis has been given.
Premiums paid in respect of the Cancellation/Accidental Damage Cover are
non-recoverable.
Booking Conditions
1. The rentals for the properties and the
periods of tenancies are given in the appropriate schedule of rate.
Whilst every effort is made to ensure that these prices are correct we do
reserve the right to alter prices
unless prior written confirmation has been received.
2. Any changes that you wish to make to your booking must be
approved by ourselves prior to your arrival.
3. Properties must be kept clean and tidy for the incoming tenant.
We reserve the right to charge for any costs
incurred in respect of any damages, losses or breakages and in respect of
any cleaning needed to prepare the
accommodation to our customary high standard for incoming tenants. Pet
owners in particular are asked to note
that in making no charge for pets we expect that owners will respect our
requesrs regarding their pet and
thoroughly clean carpets, upholstery etc of pet hair prior to departure.
4. Well behaved pets are allowed into some of our cottages by
prior arrangement.They are not allowed on
any of the furniture and should not be left unattended. For the peace of
your neighbours, animals that are
territorial and bark at strangers are not suitable for our cottages.
5. The balance, that is the rent less the deposit, is payable on
arrival.
6. Smoking within the accommodation is not allowed.
7. In the event of the prospective tenant wishing to cancel a
booking we will do our best to re-let the period
concerned. If we are successful we will retain the deposit in full to
cover extra administration costs.
However, if we are unable to re-let
the period concerned the tenant will become liable to pay the
balance.
8. In the event of
the prospective tenant failing to arrive or inform us of cancellation the tenant is liable
to pay the full
amount of the rent if the cottage is not re-let for the period concerned.
